The Mint Museum

The Mint Museum’s Southern/Modern exhibit in Uptown Charlotte explores the rich artistic landscape of the early 20th-century American South. Through themes of time, place, race, family ties, and social struggles, the exhibition offers a broader, more inclusive view of the region’s art. It highlights the creativity of female artists and artists of color, showcasing a fuller, more accurate representation of Southern artistic expression.

To enhance visitor engagement, BPI collaborated with the Mint Museum’s exhibition team to develop an interactive Visitor Response Station. Placed at the heart of the gallery, this station encourages guests to share personal reflections inspired by the exhibit. Visitors can respond to themed prompts by typing, drawing, or recording a short audio message. These responses are then displayed on a large screen, creating a communal space for reflection, dialogue, and connection.

The response station has proven to be a powerful addition, capturing a diverse range of perspectives from visitors of all backgrounds. It offers a place for guests to pause, process, and engage with both the artwork and fellow visitors. BPI is proud to have contributed to this interactive storytelling experience, helping to foster a deeper understanding of Southern art and its cultural significance.
